This tree was collected from a felled tree that was lost in the 2024 wildfire in Jasper National Park, Alberta. The tree was at least 125 years old at the time of the fire. Douglas-fir has heavy bark that can protect it from moderate wildfires, however the Jasper wildfire was an intense crown fire and most trees within its path did not survive. The tree is about 16” in diameter and is available on paper sized 18×24, 22×30 or 22×22. I can provide framed work but please email me first to check on options and shipping.
